In the past 7 years, the company has developed a range of remote telemetry units (RTU), together with various utility companies, that use the latest technology in the field of telecommunications, sensors, security and energy consumption. As a result, Crest Sensors battery-powered or mains-powered devices can collect data from any asset for years without maintenance of the monitoring solution. Crest Sensors is a Dutch company, located in Sliedrecht. It is an electronics development company with a passion for the perfect solution. Thanks to the in-house development of products, each product can be customized and adapted to the requirements and wishes of the customer. The entire production of all products takes place in the Netherlands in Sliedrecht. This limits the entire production chain and thus ruducing costs / increasing quality that can be expected from a product that has to function for years under the most severe circumstances.

PQM001: Power Quality Meter

The LTE-M power quality meter is a device developed for monitoring of low voltage grids and transformers. The device has been developed with an eye on modularity and low- cost so that it can be used for any application,
at any location and it is cost-effectively scalable. Via the Modbus protocol extensions can be coupled to the main module to measure additional low voltage fields, transformer temperatures, ambient temperatures, door contacts, short-circuit protection relays, public lighting and much more. In addition, existing
Modbus equipment can also be connected. These capabilities make this device suitable for mobile measurement solution to complete distribution automation.

RTU001: Indoor Climate sensor

RTU001 is a battery powered RTU (Remote Telemetry Unit) intended for measuring the indoor climate in buildings. The very compact form factor as well as the possibility for wall mounting makes it suitable for different types of spaces. It can be equipped with a sensor for air temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, CO2 and a tilt sensor for fall detection (gyroscope). In addition, there is the option of connecting a door sensor for monitoring presence of personel. Temperature and humidity have a direct impact on the lifetime of many different types of equipment, including switchgear, batteries, computers and telecom systems. Companies use the indoor climate sensor to monitor the indoor climate of rooms with this kind of equipment.

NB-IoT Indoor Climate Sensor

RTU002 is an RTU that can be battery-powered and / or mains-powered and can be equipped to measure up to 8 different sensors and connect them wirelessly to an endpoint of choice. Thanks to the modular design, the RTU can connect to any type of sensor from 0-10V, 4-20mA, M-Bus, Pulse, TTL, NO/NC and RS485. The right inputs are selected on a customer-specific basis. The communication takes place over NB-IoT or LTE-M. Thanks to the replaceable Lithium battery and low power technology, the RTU can function for many years (depending on the sensors and measurement / send intervals) without maintenance. The IP68 housing ensures that the RTU can be used in the roughest, wettest and dirtiest places.

RTU003: (max. 2 sensors)

RTU003 has the same functionallity as RTU002, but has a smaller form factor. This enables the device to be used in much more thight spaces. The RTU is also waterproof, making it ideal for use in wells and other small areas. For RTU003, standard variants are available for PT100(0), 0-10V, 4-20mA, RS485, Pulse, TTL, and many more sensors. There is also the possibility of a custom-made adjustment such as a different type of sensor interface or, for example, GPS. All sensors are powered from the RTU battery. Thanks to the additional mounting feet, the sensor is easy to mount on/to the wall. The internal antenna can be replaced with an external antenna to boost the signal quality in buildings, metal cabinets or wells.

RTU004: (max. 20 sensors)

RTU004 is a RTU in DIN-rail housing intended to read many sensors and communicates near real-time to an endpoint over LTE-M. The standard variant has 8 digital inputs (NO/NC), 6 analog inputs (0-10V, 4-20mA, etc.), 2X PT100(0) and RS485. In addition, this variant has 2 relays to control actuators or external relays. The RTU has a modular design that allows each input or output to be altered to specific customer needs. For example, the RTU is used to monitor gas and hydrogen stations in near real-time. For this, 6 4-20mA inputs are used for pressure and flow sensors. Just like the other RTU’s, RTU004 is equipped as standard with onboard memory for offline data retention during telecom-network and / or server downtime.
